Local Project:
For our local project, we organized two advisory sessions, the first for 8th graders and the second for 6th and 7th graders, to educate our Upper School on the aspects of healthy relationships. Click below for copies of our project.

Our Presentation to the 8th Grade on Healthy Relationships:
We opened our presentation by showing the 8th grade a map. The map showed how many women in each world region will at some point in their lives experience violence in their relationships. 1 in 3 women in the world will experience violence. We knew that we wanted to prevent this from continuing because so many girls around the world will have to suffer from it, but the questions was how? We explained to the class that we found out that women in healthy relationships are less likely to experience violence. By teaching our grade, and people around the world about healthy relationships and what it means to be in a healthy relationship, we can decrease the amount of women who will experience violence in their lives.
Important Facts About Girls' Health Worldwide:
18% of teens said that a dating relationship has negatively impacted relationships with their close friends.
12% of teenagers spend more time communicating with a boyfriend/girlfriend over Facebook than in person.
41% of tweens (ages 11-14) who have been in a relationship know friends who have been called names, put down, or insulted over the internet.
One in five tweens (ages 11-14) say their friends are victims of dating violence.
Nearly half who are in relationships know friends who have been verbally abused.
